Hi Amisha,

LinkedIn might not be the best place to have a meaningful interaction with senior folks. You would be able to get connected with them but not much beyond that.

firstly understand the intent of your interactions, whether is it mentorship, networking, job/career/work opportunities.

Seek and visit forums where these people frequently visit with a similar setting as your intent.

Create an elevator pitch(introduce yourself, mention the purpose of your connect, why a senior person should be interested in meeting you, and of course mention 1-2 nice things or greetings for the senior person) all this in 30-60 seconds.

It would be very helpful if you have identified who you would like to meet and have done some research about this person.

I can't stress enough on the next 2 points.

  1. Understand the difference between stalking and research.
  2. If you don't get a response, then let it go, and don't be overly persistent. At the same time don't get demotivated, seek another person's interest.
